What is the sample itinerary?
These are real trips designed for clients, with passions and parameters as wide-ranging as you can imagine.
We’re all about “made-to-order,” so don’t think of these trips as “ready-to-wear.” We want to whet your appetite and show you possibilities.
Have fun looking through one or two. See what makes your heart race. Then, call us and we will create a trip that’s perfect for you – with everything you want and nothing you don’t. That’s what we believe travel should be.
– Itinerary –
3 Nights – Cairo 1 Night – Aswan 3 Nights – Nile Cruise 1 Night – Aswan 1 Night – Cairo
DAY 1: CAIRO-GIZA
Arrive in Cairo and travel to Giza, site of the iconic pyramids and Great Sphinx. Egypt has been a healing destination since ancient times and we recommend settling in with a spa treatment.
DAY 2: CAIRO-GIZA
Step back thousands of years as you enter the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only remaining “Wonder of the Ancient World”, climbing through tunnels leading to galleries and above ground funerary vaults. In the evening, marvel at the Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids and Sphinx on the Giza Plateau.
DAY 3: CAIRO
Highlights of your day: Visit the Khan El-Khalili bazaar, where you can shop for everything from soap powder to semiprecious stones. Stop for a coffee at El Fishawy, an Egyptian tradition. Then head to Wekalet el GhourI to enjoy the popular El Tannoura – or ‘whirling dervishes’ – performance.
DAY 4: ASWAN
Spend the day learning more about the Nubians, one of Africa’s oldest civilizations. Embrace their rich culture and quiet lifestyle, and participate in a cooking lesson preparing local dishes to enjoy.
DAY 5: NILE CRUISE – ASWAN
Board your ship for the cruise portion of your journey. View the Aswan High Dam and Philae, the temple of the Goddess Isis. In the evening, visit Aswan’s colorful and bustling souk.
DAY 6: NILE CRUISE – ASWAN
Sail to Kom Ombo to visit the temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus, then on to the temple at Edfu. In Luxor, stroll along the Corniche at leisure and visit the bustling souk where wares from all corners of Egypt are proudly on display.
DAY 7: NILE CRUISE – LUXOR
Today’s highlight: visit the Valleys of the Kings and Queens, and enter the tombs of both Seti I and Nefertari, the father and wife of Ramses II. Back on the East bank, enjoy expert-led visits to the temples of Luxor and Karnak, and spy the recently excavated ‘Avenue of Sphinxes’ which connects the two.
DAY 8: LUXOR
Following visits to the tombs of the ancient Theban Nobles, the Ramasseum, and the Medinet Habu, you’ll board a felucca, a traditional sail boat, for lunch and a relaxing afternoon sailing the Nile.
DAY 9: CAIRO
Return to Cairo and ascend the 614-foot Cairo Tower for a spectacular panoramic view of the city. Enjoy a final view of the pyramids in the distance as well as the Nile – a fitting farewell to a grand journey.
