4 Nights –Lisbon 1 Night –Marvao 1 Night –Evora 3 Nights –Algarve
DAY 1: LISBON
Arrival Lisbon. Once you are settled in, put on your walking shoes and join your expert guide, who will show you a Lisbon that is full of diverse neighborhoods, quaint antique shops and authentic cafes and restaurants.
DAY 2: LISBON
Highlights of your day: visit the tomb of great Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama, taste pasteis de Belem, regional cream-filled delicacies, watch the sunset from the cafe at the top of Lisbon’s public elevator.
DAY 3: SINTRA
Highlights of your day: peruse the coats of arms of 71 noble Portuguese families at the Palacio da Vila. Stop in Cascais on your way back to Lisbon and see how the posh Lisboetas summer.
DAY 4: MARVAO
Enjoy your ride to Marvao. En route, stop in one of the many charming towns you’ll find along the way. Most have beautiful central squares and churches.
DAY 5: EVORA
Enjoy your ride to Evora. We will tell you our favorite place to eat tonight. After dinner, wander along Evora’s narrow cobblestone lanes.
DAY 6: ALGARVE
Enjoy your ride to the Algarve. Take the afternoon and evening at leisure to enjoy the luxe accommodations and lush scenery.
DAY 7: ALGARVE
Today, you will journey by private to sailboat to Lagos, admired by its Phoenician founders for its natural harbor. There you will explore the seaside grottoes and, if you like, try your hand at fishing.
DAY 8: ALGARVE
Day at leisure to relax and enjoy the Algarve. We suggest you rent a car for the day and head to Salges, once known as the “end of the world,” where fisherman still drop their lines into the sea.
DAY 9: LISBON
Enjoy your ride back to Lisbon. For your last night in town we suggest taking in some fado, perhaps the saddest and most beautiful music known to man.
