Arrival and travel to Tel Aviv to enjoy the afternoon to explore on your own. Order a café hafuch (literally an upside-down coffee) and people-watch at a trendy coffee shop. Stroll along the tayelet (boardwalk) and take in prime views of the beach, maybe even catching a stunning Mediterranean sunset.
DAY 2: TEL AVIV
Get an introduction to Tel Aviv on view from the ancient city of Jaffa, often called the “gateway to the Holy Land. Make sure to explore its enchanting alleyways, artists’ galleries, and stop by the famous flea market to test out your bargaining skills! Tour the renovated Templar town of Sarona, including the Historic Olive Mill and Press House and the indoor food and spice market. End your day with a special chef’s table dinner with one of Israel’s most respected, veteran chefs.
DAY 3: TEL AVIV
Discover why Tel Aviv is known as the ‘White City” on an intimate stroll, viewing remarkable Bauhaus architecture that makes Tel Aviv a UNESCO World Heritage Site and visiting Independence Hall where the state of Israel was declared in 1948. Sample authentic Israeli fare on an exclusive culinary tour of Levinsky Market. Enjoy the liveliness of the Nahalat Binyamin Crafts Fair, one of the best places to shop for handmade, unique souvenirs.
DAY 4: NORTHERN COAST
Head north and take in the changing landscapes as you explore sites along the Northern Mediterranean Coast. Discover the port city of Caesarea, built by the Roman King Herod Tour the well-preserved structures of the crusader city of Acre (Akko). Descend the world’s steepest cable car to the stunning sea grottoes at Rosh HaNikra on the border with Lebanon.
DAY 5: GOLAN HEIGHTS & GALILEE
Start the day with nature walks in the streams of Tel Dan and the Banias Nature Reserve, home of the largest waterfall in Israel. Enjoy famous Druze home hospitality for a special lunch in the home of Naseeba Samara. Ascend to the top of Mount Bental for a panoramic view overlooking Israel’s border with Syria and then stop at the Pelter Boutique Winery for a private wine-tasting.
DAY 6: GALILEE
Explore the enchanting hilltop city of Safed (Tzfat), home of Kabballah (Jewish mysticism), artists’ colony, and famous candle factory. Catch a demonstration by a Kabbalistic glass blower. Visit significant sites of Jesus’ ministry around the Sea of Galilee, including Capernaum, Tabgha and the Mount of Beatitudes. Transport back in time on a tour of Magdala, a uniquely-preserved first century city that is truly at the crossroads of Jewish and Christian history.
DAY 7: JERUSALEM
Dive into the layers of history in the Old City of Jerusalem, a place that serves as a beacon for Jews, Muslims and Christians alike. Visit the famed Western Wall, discover the secrets of the Second Temple on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Western Wall tunnels, trace the Via Dolorosa through the Christian Quarter to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, ascend the Temple Mount, and wind through the cobbled alleys of the Arab Quarter.
DAY 8: JERUSALEM
Visit the Israel Museum, where more than 5,000 years of cultural treasures are housed, including the prized Dead Sea Scrolls. Hear the personal accounts and testimony of a Holocaust survivor on a special guided tour of the Yad Vashem complex, Israel’s official monument to the victims of the Holocaust. Participate in a chef-led culinary tour of Machane Yehudah market, followed by an exclusive cooking workshop and dinner.
DAY 9: JUDAEAN DESERT
Start out early to explore the famous sites of the Judaean Desert. Ascend the desert fortress of Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage site, float in the buoyant waters at the Dead Sea – the lowest place on earth – and relax at a beachfront spa, and enjoy a nature walk in the beautiful oasis of the Ein Gedi springs.
DAY 10: AQABA
Relax and enjoy your beachfront resort, with access to sun, surf and a wide variety of water activities. Head out on a private snorkeling tour to take in the famous coral reef of the Red Sea, up close and marvel in the beauty and wonders of the sea.
DAY 11: WADI RUM & PETRA
Cross into Jordan and continue to Wadi Rum where you’ll take in the desert vistas and dramatic rock formations against the backdrop of rose-tinted mountains as you traverse sand dunes on a 4×4 jeep ride. Get a taste of local hospitality, as Bedouins welcome you to sip on sweet and spicy tea and savor authentic flavors at a traditional Bedouin banquet.
DAY 12: PETRA
Spend a full day with your private guide exploring Petra, one of the Seven New Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter Petra on a horse-drawn carriage through a narrow gorge carved into sandstone that opens onto a stunning view of the Treasury and continue to the Roman-style theater, palaces, and more as you enjoy a comprehensive tour of the once long-lost city.
DAY 13: PETRA TO AMMAN – THE KING’S HIGHWAY
Head out on the King’s Highway, an ancient roadway winding through mountain towns and small villages, teeming with scenic vistas and ruins along the way. Stop at the crusader castle of Kerak, continue to Madaba, the famed “City of Mosaics”, and overlook the Jordan Valley from atop Mount Nebo, before ending in the capital city of Amman.
DAY 14: AMMAN & NORTHERN JORDAN
Visit the ancient city of Jerash, the most complete and well-preserved city of the Roman Empire. Drive through the scenic vista of pine trees and olive groves to historic Ajloun. Contrast the North to the buzz of Jordan’s young capital, Amman, where you’ll explore the city center, traditional souks (markets), art galleries and chic cafes before you depart for the airport and head home.
DAY 15: AMMAN & DEPARTURE
Check out of your hotel and travel to the airport , where you will receive VIP assistance through departure and customs formalities before boarding your flight home.
